The harvest of 2000 produced our first substantial amount of grapes. Most of the fruit went to Edmond St. John winery in Berkeley California. We saved enough grapes to have a barrel made at Alban Vineyards. This was bottled in May 2002, and we were really able to appreciate the benefits of our hard work. Mat Garretson & Bassetti Vineyards produced one barrel of the 2000 vintage for the Hospice du Rhone barrel auction. It was well received and was one of the barrels to garner high bids. Sold in two 1-case lots, one 6-case lot and one 12-case lot, this 2000 Syrah brought in almost $6500 to the auction.

The 2001 harvest produced a larger crop. We saved enough grapes for four barrels that were processed at Alban Vineyards. The 2002 harvest was a little smaller due to a variety of reasons. We saved enough grapes for four barrels that were again processed by Alban Vineyards. 2003 brought a larger harvest as the new five acre plantings were now producing. We were able to produce six barrels of Syrah wine from the grapes we kept from this harvest. We made this wine at Garretson Wine Company in Paso Robles.

The 2004 harvest was great, as the five acre vineyard was in full production. We were able to produce 8 barrels this year. 160 cases of the 2004 were bottled in August of 2006. The 2005 harvest was a long one. The fruit was really thinned and we produced 9 barrels from this vintage once the fruit was finally harvested in late November.

2006 brought a lighter than normal harvest for most of the California vineyards, and ours was no exception. We sold fewer grapes and kept enough to produce 11 barrels. We are making our wine at Denner Vineyards in Paso Robles beginning with the 2006 harvest.
